Lawn Fawn stamp set used: On the mend
To make your own scratch off tickets/cards you’ll need;
Dawn dish soap (any brand should do)
metallic acrylic paint (any color and brand of your choice)
packing tape or contact paper
painters tape I personally didn’t use it for this project since my hand was steady
scrap paper or craft mat
Prepare your mixture. Two parts paint for every one part dish soap.
Start mixing, but try not to stir too aggressively – you do not want too many little bubbles.
Grab a piece of scrap paper or craft mat and tape down the card you’re wanting to put the scratch off area on – (I actually didn’t tape down my card)
You will need either packing tape or contact paper to cover your picture or item that you want to paint. You can also use paper punches to make designs for your scratch offs…
Make sure to cover the whole area you want painted over with tape.
If you do not have a steady hand use painters tape, mark off what you don’t want painted over. If you have a steady hand you could skip this step. I did not use painters tape.
Now start painting.
Use thin, even layers. Don’t worry if you can still see through it after the first coat, it will most likely take two or four coats to get it all covered.
I did about 4 layers. Give it about 15-60 mins to dry depending on how many layers you did.
If you used painters tape (blue removable tape) now you can remove the tape but be careful not to tear the surface/card. ( I skipped this step since I did not use painters tape.)
Now you have an awesome scratch off card/surface!
Now grab your coin and start scratching.
Halloween is coming near and whether you want to hand out goody bags to co-workers, trick or treaters or even clients this is one that anyone can do…
Supplies that will be needed:
- Cardstock paper to make to stamp on
- Halloween stamps
- Black or any other color ink pads
- Address labels in white
- Treat bags (you can buy at any craft store or Wal-Mart)
- Candy (Hershey Nuggets preferred)
First layout your address labels:
These are left over from our wedding…I still have tons of them…lol
Next get some archival ink so the ink will not smudge and will be waterproof
You will need some Halloween stamps. You can go to Michael’s and JoAnn’s Fabric and get small stamp sets for $1.00 and Wal-Mart carries similar ones for 97 cents. (I could show you a bunch more but this is just a taste of the stamps)
You will also need something similar to Hershey Nuggets or Hershey nuggets.
and of course the bags you are going to put your treats in…
Now stamp on the labels however you want your design to be….
Now let’s assemble the labels to the candy and the bags:
After you finish all the stamping and wrapping you can proceed to putting the candy in a clear bag or a decorative bag.
Now comes the topper for the bag.
Attach the topper to the bag with a staple or you can use a hole punch and some black ribbon to close it.
Here is your finished product to give out to your trick or treaters, friends, co-workers or clients…
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. More to come.
Thanks for stopping by.
I have started to crockpot cook…and cook ahead and freeze.
Yesterday I made meatloaf and Lasagnas in the crockpot. I have beef stew meat marinading in the fridge overnight. I also made pork chops on the stove top. Tomorrow I plan on making the beef stew and Chili and freezing them for a later date. I want to fill up my freezer with meals that we can just pop in the microwave when I am too busy to cook. With our busy holiday season right around the corner I want to make sure we are still eating healthy and not fast food.
Here are the pics of the meatloaf and lasagna.
The lasagna recipe was from Crockin Girls website
I have been wanting to learn how to can. Growing up my brother and grandmother did it and made some awesome jams. Canning has always scared me and it just seemed soooo time consuming. Well..I am going to dip my pinky toe in there. I went to my local grocery store and saw the Ball Home Canning Discovery Kit normally selling for $12.19 on clearance for $4.49 plus a $2 off coupon…(bargain). Sadly, I did not notice the coupon until I got home so I will head back to the store tomorrow to pick up a few more and get my $2 back. The discovery kit includes a canning rack with lifter, 3 pint jars, and instructions and recipes. So I just may learn after all what the hoopla is….
This was one of my great finds at Office Max. It was marked on clearance for $41.99 when I went to the check out it rang up $14.00 YAY! I have been wanting a bigger size trimmer have the smaller ones but finally broke down to get the big trimmer…so glad I waited.
